WELCOME to the Phoenix Rising website, where you can learn about the transformational study and support services I offer as a spiritual tutor, group facilitator, and workshop leader. I take an integral approach to spirituality. By ‘integral’, I mean that while my own spiritual path has been influenced by various Eastern and Western teachings, my only true path is the unique combination of beliefs, choices, and actions that I have embraced within my own heart and mind. This path is expressed every day as my own life lived to its fullest. In my experience, the exercise of tremendous willpower could not conquer my addictive tendencies and fill the existential void that haunted me. But just an ounce of willingness to surrender to a strength and wisdom larger than myself opened the door to a life that was completely transformed.
My services are designed for those who seek a practical spirituality: not only a greater understanding of time-tested spiritual principles, but also the knowledge of how to apply those principles in their everyday lives.
For the love, joy, and fulfillment that I have experienced, I feel tremendous awe and gratitude. Many friends, colleagues, family members, and strangers have helped me along this grace-filled way. And, just as I've been served by becoming willing to seek help from others, I now find joy in supporting others by sharing the tools and the tenderness that help me to live a life of spiritual abundance. I believe this is the birthright of each and every one of us.

One of the most calming and powerful actions you can do to intervene in a stormy world is to stand up and show your soul. Soul on deck shines like gold in dark times. The light of the soul throws sparks, can send up flares, builds signal fires, causes proper matters to catch fire. To display the lantern of soul in shadowy times like these -- to be fierce and to show mercy toward others, both, are acts of immense bravery and greatest necessity.
